Alpha Rho Omega Chapter Alert: Brother Dr. Jackson Benjiman Sheftall, Jr. (Fall 1951) -- Gridiron L


Brother Sheftall leaves a rich Alpha Rho/Morehouse and Spelman College legacy -- his Brother Dr. Willis B. Sheftall, Jr. was initiated into the Chapter ten years following, in Fall 1961, while his youngest daughter Kim Sheftall Humphries proudly represented the Chapter on the Alpha Rho Court in 1981, and her husband Frederick S. Humphries, Jr. was initiated into the Chapter in Fall 1980. His wife Margaret (Rucker) Sheftall was on the Maroon & White court in 1958, and oldest daughter Dr. Sheila Sheftall Cannon reigned as Miss Maroon & White in 1982.

Brother Sheftall's sister, Sheila Sheftall Barnes, was crowned Miss Maroon & White in 1955, and her husband and son are both initiates of Alpha Rho Chapter -- William Thomas Barnes, Jr. (Fall 1954) and son Tommy Barnes III (Fall 1981).

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, December 7, 2019, at Washington Avenue Presbyterian Church, 939 Washington Avenue, Macon, Georgia 31201. Internment will immediately follow the service at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery, followed by a repass at the church.

The Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Omega Chapter Ritual will be held at 6pm, Friday, December 6 at Hutchings Funeral Home, Inc., 536 New Street, Macon, Georgia 31201.
