On Thursday, December 3, 2026, on the eve of the historic 120th Anniversary of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., the Alpha Rho Chapter Alumni Association (APCAA) will formally unveil The Alpha Rho Chapter Archival Collection at the Atlanta University Center Robert W. Woodruff Library. This landmark occasion will celebrate more than a century of Alpha Rho's distinguished legacy at Morehouse College while establishing a permanent home for the preservation, exhibition, and scholarly exploration of its extraordinary history.

The 3:00 p.m. Grand Opening Ceremony will feature a historic presentation of artifacts associated with legendary Morehouse College Presidents, national fraternity leaders, and distinguished Alpha Rho Chapter luminarieswhose achievements helped shape Morehouse College, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and the broader American experience. Among the distinguished guests joining this landmark celebration will be legacy family members of Bro. Dr. John Hope, Morehouse College's first African American President, whose pioneering leadership helped establish the institution's enduring tradition of academic excellence, intellectual advancement, and the development of generations of Black leaders.

Their participation will add special historical significance to the occasion, connecting the descendants of one of Morehouse's most influential presidents with a new generation dedicated to preserving his legacy and that of the institution he helped shape.

Among the ceremony's most anticipated highlights will be the unveiling of the first-ever list of Alpha Rho Chapter Living Legends, honoring the chapter's distinguished leadership during its most recent century of achievement. This inaugural recognition will celebrate brothers whose exceptional contributions, enduring service, and commitment to the ideals of Alpha Phi Alpha have helped advance the chapter's legacy and influence across generations.

Taking place on the eve of the Fraternity's 120th Founders' Day, the Grand Opening will represent a historic convergence of brotherhood, institutional heritage, archival preservation, family legacy, and intergenerational recognition. Through rare historical documents, photographs, personal memorabilia, and other significant artifacts, the exhibition will illuminate the remarkable contributions of generations of brothers whose leadership extended from the Morehouse campus into education, civil rights, public service, business, and national affairs. The occasion will mark another significant milestone in APCAA's continuing commitment to preserve our past, document our present, and provide future generations with a permanent place where Alpha Rho's history can be studied, experienced, and celebrated.
