Alpha Rho Undergrad Julien Turner (Spring 2019) Joins 9 Maroon Tigers Named To SIAC* Pre-Season All


Known as #44 on the gridiron, and known as the "Jewel" #7 on the Novellus 19, Brother Turner and the other Maroon Tiger honorees will be recognized for their achievements at the Morehouse Football Alumni Association's inaugural fundraising gala on August 17 at the The Country Club of Roswell (Georgia).

Turner and teammates open the 2019 football season on September 1st -- facing off against Alabama A&M University in the first annual Black College Football Hall of Fame Classic taking place at the Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio. The game will be the culmination of a weekend packed with all the experiences that a “classic” has to offer: Marching bands, live performances, tailgating, a concert featuring Morris Day & the Time, Drumline and Dance Competitions, a golf tournament and other local events.

A native of Champaign, Illinois, Julien Turner is a rising senior at Morehouse College, a content curator, writer, director and rising senior at Morehouse College. Julien and his brother Justen developed their production company Dreadhead Films LLC at the tender age of 15 and 12 respectively, and began their auspicious careers as film directors and writers. Today as it stands, Dreadhead Films has been recognized by a number of film festivals such as San Francisco Black Film Festival, Pan African Film Festival, Urban Film Festival and much more.
