Brother Marcus "Hank" Noel (Spring 2007) Recognized by the United Nations As Most Influent
In recognition of the 100th year anniversary of the birth of great leader and visionary Nelson Mandela, MIPAD announced its 4th and final category for Class of 2018. Brother Marcus Noel has been recognized by the United Nations and Most Influential People of the African Diaspora for his social entrepreneurship work at Heart of Man Ventures.
In support of the International Decade for People of African Descent, proclaimed by United Nation's General Assembly resolution 68/237 and to be observed from 2015 to 2024, the Most Influential People of African Descent (MIPAD) identifies high achievers of African descent in public and private sectors from all around the world as a progressive network of relevant actors to join together in the spirit of recognition, justice and development of Africa, it's people on the continent and across it's Diaspora.
Brother Noel is a social entrepreneur, speaker, philanthropist, activist and 2018 Ed Tech Digest "100 Most Influential Innovators" and Forbes 30 Under 30 Alum. He is the co-founder of The World Series of Entrepreneurship and Founder & CEO of Heart of Man Ventures (HōM), an immersive youth entrepreneurship community. Noel's mission is to create the largest community of young creators, innovators, and entrepreneurs to change the world. Noel graduated with honors from Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA with additional studies at the London School of Economics and Peking University in Beijing, China.
He has been a featured speaker at The Obama White House, TEDxYouth, and K12 schools nationally. His work with youth has been featured in Forbes, World Economic Forum, Black Enterprise, MADE Magazine, Blavity and Ashoka. Other honors include 2016 Made Impact List, a 2015 Camelback Ventures Fellowship, an Education Pioneers Fellowship, a StartingBloc Social Innovation Fellowship, and being named to the 2015 class of “Emerging Innovators” by Ashoka and American Express. Marcus is a World Economic Forum "Global Shaper". Marcus was appointed as the youngest board member of F.O.C.U.S. (Friends of Choice in Urban Schools). Most recently, Noel runs a column in Forbes covering dynamic startups and young innovators disrupting industries.
