Brother George B. Walker (Fall 1989) Named Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for Pla


Brother George Walker has been appointed the Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for the Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) -- the first executive officer in that discipline for the 102-year old organization. He moves to PPFA in October from his role as Director of Diversity & Inclusion at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

PPFA's Message to Staff Regarding his Appointment:

Through this search, we looked for candidates who would design, develop, and deliver a comprehensive diversity, equity, and inclusion program with a primary focus on the national office. A senior leader who would be the primary catalyst and change agent for a wide range of both internal and external-facing DEI work. A leader who is to be able to work independently and yet balance between pushing innovation and meeting the key stakeholders where they are in the DEI journey. George Walker Jr. has a passion and pragmatism for DEI work and its beneficiaries."

About George Walker:

George B. Walker, Jr. is a professional inclusion leader, executive coach, and passionate advocate for training and leadership development. He understands creating a pipeline for talent development, succession planning, and goal setting among his peers and colleagues. His work spans strategic planning, program development within the nonprofit sector, as well as the corporate and business community, public speaking and program design for national and international organizations. A former Peace Corps volunteer (Ecuador), he is fluent in Spanish. George was an appointee by President Obama to serve on the White House Initiative for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), a term that is determined at the pleasure of the President of the United States.
